About A little over five years ago, a long time friend of mine e-mailed me with "This is it!!!" I found THE place! We had been talking about the possibility of my buying property in NW Arkansas with the objective of building a rental cabin or two and relocating to the area. I bought some property. It was a lovely place on the Little Buffalo River.

I excitedly perused all the web sites in the area and read every review by The Barefoot Traveler, a local Internet author who reviews vacation rentals and knows the area well.

With great excitement and anticipation, " ....I loaded up the truck and moved the familee...".

As things have a way of happening, plans changed. Although unavoidably delayed with my cabin building plans, I continued to search the area for another piece of property that had the right mix of features for my plans.

One day driving around, I came across a lovely spot by a creek near an antique church. This is charming! It’s close to the park, secluded, easy to get to and the neighborhood is lovely! The neighboring farms are some of the prettiest I have seen in this "neck of the woods". Wow - what a nice little valley. I had never examined this area before - it is somewhat off the beaten path yet very close to two towns - one even has a Wal Mart! Lucky folks who live there I thought.

A year later. I bought it.

Now, finally, my friend can add me to her (impressive) list of protégés.

Although I am the new kid on the block, I have lots of good advisors and I intend to do this really well.

Since I am new and my building is not made out of logs (how much time do you actually spend outside looking at the building you staying in - really now?)....my first season - I am priced competitively.
